Chris Burden

Chris Burden is an American born artist who stands out compared to other artists. He focuses in the fields of contemporary art. Most of his pieces I had trouble connecting to art like in the Shoot where he has one of his friends shot him in the arm. As he starts to develop his carrerr his installations become more normal but they are still incredibly unique. One of my favorites is the flying tractor where he makes a tractor float as if it were a feather. Burden really stands out to me because he is not afraid to be different and he does not care what people think of him.

Sister Wendy and timelessness

Sister Wendy is an incredibly smart person who has a strong passion for art. She admires the beauties of famous artist like Picasso and Cezanne. She takes into account the historic backgrounds of each painting and the artist's conditions when making the piece. She understands the different styles and how they were used. Even though she is a nun she looks at art with an unbiased opinion and loves art for what it represents. Sometimes she describes art pieces as timeless. Timelessness to me means that no matter what time or age someone is in they can still connect and relate themselves to something that has been created over 100 years ago. 

What is art to you?

When thinking about what art is to me many ideas pop in my head. In my opinion art means something different to everyone. I think art is made so people can express their feelings. When people observe a piece of art they think what it means to them, and everyone has their own opinion. However no one is right or wrong that is what makes art so great to me. There is such a wide variety and to everyone it means something different.
